Introduction to Metal Casting

Learn about the art of metal casting through a brief introduction to the various methods used throughout the ages and observe a demonstration done with pewter. Participants will be given the opportunity to safely pour pewter ornaments or finger rings and will be left with the information needed to pursue their own metal casting projects safely with tools available in their own kitchens.

This class is being presented by The Jazz Robot Studios, a local arts non-profit, and will be led by Jonathan Larkin. Jonathan studied fine art at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and works with gold, silver, and bronze in his studio in Shrewsbury. 

For grades 5-12. Registration required.
